Prerequisites

User is logged in
An opportunity exists within the user’s scope
Solution configurator was just opened for a new solution (not a previously saved one)

Navigate to an opportunity’s Solutions tab and click New Solution to open the configurator

Configurator opens with an empty solution

Add one or more items to the solution (to make it ‘dirty’)

Items appear in the right panel

Click Cancel (or press Escape)

System detects the dirty flag and shows a confirmation dialog asking whether to discard changes

Click Confirm (or ‘Yes, discard’) on the confirmation dialog

System deletes the empty/unsaved solution record and closes the configurator

Verify the configurator dialog has closed

Dialog is no longer visible

Verify the opportunity’s Solutions tab does not show an orphaned empty solution record

Solutions tab shows the same state as before (no new solution entry)

Refresh the page and verify no orphaned solution exists

After refresh, the Solutions tab confirms no orphaned record was left behind
